By driving: When the roads are empty, it takes roughly 40 minutes to drive from Downtown Honolulu to the North Shore. You should expect moderate traffic and you should give yourself at least 60 minutes to get to your destination.
By TheBus: It will take roughly two hours to get to the North Shore via TheBus. Route 52 and Route 55 will take you there. Route 52 travels clockwise around the island (through Central Oahu) whereas Route 55 travels counterclockwise (through East Oahu).
